Managing My files

Do not forget that CLICK means LEFT CLICK and is also called SELECT.
Click selects.
Right click open menus (options) which are different depending on where you RIGHT CLICK.

Organizing

All files (Photos, musics, letters, scans, etc) THAT YOU CREATE or RECEIVE,
MUST BE SAVED IN “MY DOCUMENTS”
Why? Because when you do a backup all you have to do is copy My Documents to a pen drive or to a disc and all your important files will be saved. Programs cannot be saved, they will be re-installed when needed.

Folders

When you work in an office you will never have loose pieces of papers in the drawer of a file cabinet. You will always have folders for documents and label the folders to help you find themm quickly. Use the same concept in the computer.

Now, to make a new folder for example in My Documents you will right click on a blank segment of the folder you have opened, right click and select NEW - FOLDER

When New Folder is highlighted you only type the Name for that folder.example: My Photos. Now you move your photos, which undoubtely are all over your computer.

Moving my files with CUT and PASTE

So now you created a folder for for example “My Photos”. To move a photo or photos to this folder requires for you to use te “Cut and Paste” commands that you can find above in the EDIT menu or you can right click on a hilighted file and select “CUT”. Now, go to the folder where you want to move that file to and open the folder, double clicking on it OR right clicking on it and selecting OPEN.

When it opens go to EDIT select PASTE and press ENTER.

You can do this with one file or several files if you learn to highlight them all. How do I highlight several files? Selct the first file you want to move then hold the SHIFT key and go to the last file youwant to move Click on it and you will see all previous files are now highlighted. The Paste is the same as for a single file as above. A simple ,ethod to select all files in a folder is that after you have highlighted the first file or any file in the folder you now type CTRL A in the keyboard and you will see all files in the folder are now highlighte(selected)
